The Sixty-Four Hexagrams.

Index of Universal Archetypes

These sixty-four figures name recurring conditions in life: beginnings, conflict, waiting, return, stagnation, abundance, dispersal, completion. The title of a hexagram is only the threshold. Its meaning opens through the structure of the lines, the relation between inner and outer movement, and the situation brought before it.

Read them as archetypes rather than labels. A hexagram does not hand down a fixed verdict; it reveals the shape of a moment and the direction in which it is moving.
